Wegovy Pen (semaglutide)

Wegovy is the brand name for semaglutide, a once-weekly injection licensed in the UK for chronic weight management. Each FlexTouch pen contains four weekly doses.

Semaglutide mimics a natural hormone (GLP-1) that regulates appetite. It slows stomach emptying, increases fullness after eating, and reduces appetite signalling. In clinical trials patients lost on average around 15% of their body weight over 68 weeks.

One injection weekly, on the same day each week, using the pre-filled pen. Treatment starts at 0.25mg and steps up under prescriber review. Suitable injection sites are the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
